Am I allowed to burn rubbish in the city limits?
No. According to Village Ordinances and State of Illinois Statutes, burning rubbish and other household and business waste is illegal. State of Illinois Statutes and village ordinaces only allow the burning of yard waste
Does the village maintain a burn pile for yard waste?
Yes. The village maintains a burn pile for residents to conveniently dispose of yard waste at the village maintenance building located behind the ball park on the west edge of the village. Reminder: State of Illinois Statutes and Village of Windsor ordinances only allow for the burning of yard wastes. Please dispose of any rubbish and other hosuehold waste including building materials, with the company you use for garbage disposal.
